The main feature of the soils is the sandy texture, composed of a surface layer of 40-100 cm of red sands, originating from the so-called sea terraces, resting on a layer of limestone-based tuff important to ensure the constant water balance of the plant, necessary conditions to produce great wines of Sicily.

A mild climate, the proximity to the sea and at the same time the protection of the Iblei hills have made these places a land suitable for wine production.

Pettineo vineyard covers about 60 hectares. The vineyards represent the heart of our crops. To frame the citrus grove and the olive trees, almond and pistachio, herbs and aromatic plants, finally, color and perfume our little paradise.

Believing in the power of native Sicilian grapes, mainly in Frappato and Nero D’avola it’s our strength.  Here these varieties both find their own homeland and from their merging become the Cerasuolo di Vittoria which is the mark of our territory and its wine heritage.

Our wines are organically gotten from the grapes farmed at Vigna di Pettineo. They are bottled after a careful selection of grapes used as well as methods of vinification and ageing.

Always at Vigna di Pettineo Nero we grow up grapes of Nero d’Avola and Frappato to make the Cerasuolo di Vittoria.

The best grapes are carefully selected and handpicked. The extraordinary result of our hard job is a wine which is red cherry coloured and characterised also by some purple nuances and scents of red berry fruits. It’s a wine with a full-bodied and soft taste with a long and persistent aftertaste.

From our bush trained vineyard, we select and pick by hand the grapes of Nero d’Avola to make our organic wine Vigna di Pettineo.

We carefully select the finest grapes that are handpicked to make our Nero d’Avola Vigna di Pettineo. It is red cherry coloured and characterised also by some purple nuances and scents of red berry fruits. It’s a wine with a full-bodied and soft taste with a long and persistent aftertaste.

We make our Frappato Vigna di Pettineo using only the finest handpicked grapes.

From the bush trained vineyards, produce Frappato grapes for the production of “Vigna di Pettineo”. From the best carefully handpicked grapes, we make this cherry red wine, with violet reflection and a underbrush hints. The freshness of tannins give a lovely pleasure and a refined taste.

Only the finest grapes which are selected and handpicked are used for making our wine Grillo Vigna di Pettineo.

With the best carefully handpicked Grillo grapes, coming from vineyards
trained with guyot the system, we produce the “Vigna di Pettineo” selection. This wine has a straw yellow colour, a refined and persistent bouquet, a vibrant and lovely acidity, with a length aftertaste with boisé fragrances.
